Main Course: Love to Learn and Learn to Love

All my life, I have been trying to grow wiser without growing older.

Though I have not been totally successful as (as my balding head will show), my spirit is still in its youth.

That is sort-a what this website is about -- learning about things... all sorts of things... yet, remembering the love and trust we all need from Mother and Father.

So, when you are traveling through this labyrinth of a website, please help our younger viewers understand what it is all about.

To our older viewers: our studies show that the older you are, the harder it is to "get" this website. Maybe you can be learning from the youth at the same time?

Thank you.

Some Example Study Paths

Notes: most of our study paths are not linear and may take time to grasp. All of our study paths are supposed to be interactive: you give us feedback, and we change the web. Since we never stop learning, this website never stops growing. And, please remember... we are trying to be fun :) So, we do tend to use humor. Besides, if you don't want to have fun, you should go home... hehehe... just kidding.

If you need ideas on how to incorporate this website into a lesson plan for a specific age group, please email help@KingArthur.com.

Note: this is a non-denominational website. A wide variety of Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, and others, work on the website. We are always interested in hearing more. If your religion can shed some light on our website, please help us.

There is one thing that all the religions seem to have in common, the golden rule -- do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

This entire website is a social study, as well as, an anthropological experiment. Think about it... talk about it... let us know your thoughts.

In response to Ms. Potter's 4th grade class' original letter (asking us to help with their millennium project), we wrote back asking for help on our project:

Dear Ms. Potter,

We are working on a millennium project now, too. (http://KingArthur.com/)

It involves a lot of friends... some of them with famous names... like Peter Gabriel. He also did the music for the Millennium Dome in England.

The Millennium Show is the must see central attraction that takes place up to five times a day during 2000 at the heart of the Dome. Following a 20 minute pre-show, there will be a 28 minute live aerial and acrobatic spectacle that uses 61 performers at anyone time and the full height of the Dome's 50 metres. The show is set in the Dome's central arena, one of the largest undercover performance spaces in the world and the size of Trafalgar Square. The show has been conceived for the Dome by Mark Fisher and Peter Gabriel. A unique feature of the Millennium Show when it opens in 2000 will be impressive moving architectural structures that dominate the space, becoming vehicles for the characters and story.

We are trying to set up KingArthur.com as an interactive learning experience for families.

When you take your students there, they should be supervised (as some of the content is graphic... World War II victims, etc.)

If you are interested in getting involved, please let us know.

Thank you,
Daniel

Dear Daniel,

This sounds very interesting! I'm sure some of our kids would love to be involved! Please let us know what we need to do. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Ms. Potter

Dear Ms. Potter,

Wow... great.

Well, we already have some thoughts:

1) please give us general feedback

2) the kids can help us with the "site map"
Click here and save the file "concert_map.jpg" to your computer. (Use your right mouse button and choose the "save picture" option.)

Open the file in any graphics program and add the things you would like to see at our "concert". (e.g. a five year old just drew a nice pinball machine on a map for us. It went between Light and Metamorphosis.)

If you do a good one, send it back to us. Maybe we'll be able to put it on the website!

3) light, sound and motion
The kids (with mom and dad's permission) can make a mini-DV, Super8, 8mm or VHS video tape, as well as, photos, music, etc. and send it to us. We will try to use some of your pieces on the website. (You should send a high-quality copy. Sorry, we can't send them back.)

Anything sound fun yet?

Sincerely,
Daniel

Daniel,
Sure does!!! =)
