Rulers of the world, Grow old, Those too bold, Pass away, Not living to see the day, Of the new. Who knew, The world was in disarray, Bribery as politician pay? Who knew, That we spew, Pollution? Too few? Or, do we all know, How things go, We're just too slow, To take action, To flex a reflex, It does perplex... No reaction, Leaves dissatisfaction, Who knew, Me and you! So, what will we say, On our judgement day? Plead ignorance, Or, arrogance? Wait! Why procrastinate? I still have a heart beat, And, can get off my seat, Try to make amends, For where I've been, See how much love one sends, When I'm tryin'. If the notion grew.... And, who knew, What we can do, Until we tried, At least it happened, Before I died, And, who knew, What we can do, Until we tried, At least it happened, Before my end. Then, looking back, I could say, "I knew The New." There's nothing we lack, We could say, "We know The New now!"
