Since a few of my friends seem to be having trouble with this idea, I thought I'd give it a whack.

There are several key points in why you do not wish to create the hell you've described. The best I can liken it to is... sensory deprivation.

A nightmare of mine: to be in a neutral state

You may want to look at some studies done in this area... they put you in a rubber suit, cover your eyes and ears, drop ya in a tub of 98.6 degree water... feed ya with an IV. almost nothing can be sensed... no taste, smell, sight, sound or touch.

Do you know what happens to people that have to endure this for any period of time?

Unfortunately, more than one friend advocates such a neutral place. They appear to hold this misbelief due to language. in particular:

opposite
neutral
equal
negative
to negate

These are some common false statements:

• everything has an opposite
• opposite means negative
• everything/everybody is (or should be) equal
• to negate something means everything but that thing
• If I stand in the middle "neutral" I am neither "good" nor am I "bad"

So, when these false statements get used in certain ways, the people making them are actually asking for the heat death of the universe. that is what puzzles me... why would spiritually gifted people want to kill all life?
